Description: This honey-processed Geisha (Gesha) variety micro-lot was sourced from Finca La Bastilla, an idyllic farm set atop the high peaks of Nicaragua’s Jinotega department. Ripe red coffee cherries were picked from La Bastilla’s Geisha (Gesha) micro-farm. The cherries were floated and the skin was removed, but some of the mucilage of the fruit was left intact for the drying stage. The resulting profile offers a vibrant, well balanced, delicate, and clean cup. The aroma is intensely fruity and floral. On the front end, you pick up on delicate notes of sweet raspberry jam, with a bit of brightness but not too overpowering. The body is light and the mouthfeel is creamy, buttery, and coating, accompanied by a note of wildflower honey. The finish is incredibly smooth and clean, with a lingering floral and sweet note of wildflower honey carrying through alongside a prevalent note of cabernet to round out the sweetness. Truly a superb cup of Geisha (Gesha) that won't be around for long, so grab a bag while you can!
Shelf Life: An unopened bag will remain tasty for five months due to our processes and packaging. We remove most of the oxygen from each bag during our packaging process and replace it with food-grade nitrogen to lovingly cradle these precious beans for a long time. We use the highest quality bags with one-way valves to retain the low-oxygen environment we create and allow our coffee to off-gas naturally.
