Description: This coffee grown organically across a large farm and multiple small outgrowers in the East Guji Zone at 2,000-2,150masl, where around 18,000 tons of coffee are produced each year. The Guji region came into the spotlight in the early 2000s when it was discovered that coffee from Guji exhibited unique and distinctive characters that set it apart from its Yirgacheffe and Sidamo neighbors. The landscape is semi-forest, and the coffee trees benefit from the natural canopy and the decomposing foliage debris. The variety of microclimates within Guji alone encourages the development of diverse flavor profiles that present beautifully as both filter and espresso coffee.

We roasted this Ethiopian coffee medium to bring out the sweetness and highlight the blueberry note. On the front end, you pick up on subtle notes of blueberry, guji berry, and a touch of vanilla. Along side its medium and creamy body, you get a floral note of rose, with touches of raisin and a hint of earthiness. This cup finishes crisp and smooth, with a subtle lingering finish. The blueberry note really starts to present itself more as this cup cools, which makes us happy. We won't have this coffee for long, so grab some while you can!

Shelf Life: An unopened bag will remain tasty for five months due to our processes and packaging. We remove most of the oxygen from each bag during our packaging process and replace it with food-grade nitrogen to lovingly cradle these precious beans for a long time. We use the highest quality bags with one-way valves to retain the low-oxygen environment we create and allow our coffee to off-gas naturally.
