Description:
Bringing something different to the table, as well as keeping some of the wonderful things about a traditional espresso roast, can be a bit tricky, but we are doing just that with our Modernist Espresso! This dark roast coffee is sure to please, no matter which side of the fence you’re on. This starts as a robust cup with a nice hazelnut note and low acidity. Then, quickly dives into an incredibly velvety, deeply rich body with subtle smoky notes. It finishes very smooth, with a note of brown sugar that intertwines sweetly with that velvety mouthfeel, lingering most pleasingly. There’s a bit of wonderful complexity here, and complexity in a dark espresso roast can be hard to come by. Well, at least it used to be!

Espresso Notes:

Recipe: 20g of coffee into 42g of espresso output. Approx. 28-30 second extraction.
(Mahlkonig K30 grinder and Faema E-Nova A1 Espresso machine)

This espresso is incredibly heavy, dense, and rich in all the best ways, Like a moist chocolate cake! The espresso is decadent and syrupy right off the bat and follows through all the way. There's a prominent flavor of lovely nuttiness that plays with the dark chocolate notes very pleasantly. After the aggressive toasted sugar cane sweetness mellows out, you're left with a lingering smokiness that satisfies all your caffeine cravings!
