Description: This Rainforest Alliance Certified Honduran coffee hails from the Erandique, Lempira region. Erandique is a small municipality within the state of Lempira, with a population of 15,000 people primarily involved in the cultivation of coffee. All the coffee in Flor De Copan comes from members of the LIFT Program, which is a five-year sustainability program designed to increase crop yield and coffee quality at the producer level. This well balanced cup opens up with notes of wildflower and pecan, and subtle, yet bright, acidity. It is quickly followed by notes of cedar and plum. The body is medium, accompanied by a soft and pillowy mouthfeel. It finishes smooth with notes of dark chocolate that linger on the palate.
Shelf Life: An unopened bag will remain tasty for five months due to our processes and packaging. We remove most of the oxygen from each bag during our packaging process and replace it with food-grade nitrogen to lovingly cradle these precious beans for a long time. We use the highest quality bags with one-way valves to retain the low-oxygen environment we create and allow our coffee to off-gas naturally.
