Tasting Notes: Toasted Caramel, Honeyed Pecan, & Smoked Cedar
Description: This rich Brazilian coffee hails from the Cerrado Mineiro region of Brazil. Cerrado Mineiro, or Cerrado de Minas, is the only region with Designation of Origin status. At an altitude of 800 to 1,300masl, the region enjoys temperatures ranging from 65 to 73ºF. Medium- to large-size farms are located throughout 55 municipalities, some with a few hundred acres all the way to large estates. This cup is complex, well balanced, and very rich. On the front end, you get notes of toasted caramel, honeycrisp apple, and a touch of juniper. Soon after, you pick up on sweet notes of honeyed pecan and dark chocolate fudge. These notes accompany a deep, medium heavy body, alongside a very creamy mouthfeel. It finishes incredibly smooth, with lingering notes of apricot and smoked cedar alongside the sweeter notes mentioned earlier. Truly a wonderful winter time coffee, but this one won't be around for long, so get it while you can!
