Description:  This regional lot comes from the Nuevo Oriente region of Guatemala, in the far eastern area of Guatemala along the Honduras and El Salvador border. Nuevo Oriente is a relatively new coffee growing region, only beginning cultivation in the 1950s. The regions volcanos are inactive, but they remnants of previous eruptions have created rich volcanic soils perfect for coffee production. This cup produces a wonderfully complex cup that is rich and sweet. On the front end, you pick up on notes of sweet, smoked marshmallow and just a touch of orange zest. The medium body is rich, with a  creamy mouthfeel, and accompanied by notes of spiced pear and a bit of milk chocolate. It finishes smooth, with lingering floral and woody notes of spruce.

Shelf Life: An unopened bag will remain tasty for five months due to our processes and packaging. We remove most of the oxygen from each bag during our packaging process and replace it with food-grade nitrogen to lovingly cradle these precious beans for a long time. We use the highest quality bags with one-way valves to retain the low-oxygen environment we create and allow our coffee to off-gas naturally.
